Principal's Corner

From the Principal's Pen

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the New Horizon Alternative School. We look forward to establishing and maintaining a meaningful relationship with parents/guardians and students of New Horizon Alternative School as well as the surrounding community.

We strive to provide a full service educational program by addressing each student's unique needs-- one student at a time. We further promote the involvement of parents/guardians as well as the community. We realize that education goes beyond the physical walls of New Horizon; therefore we constantly seek to involve all education stakeholders on an ongoing basis in the education process. Parental involvement and community involvement are both essential elements.

Students have been given a second chance to improve themselves by taking advantage of the educational opportunity provided to them by the caring and committed staff of New Horizon Alternative School.

Thank you for allowing us to work with you and your child this school year. We are committed to helping your child make positive changes in his/her life. Please help us as we help your child turn his/her life around one step at a time.

As parents, you are welcome to come visit and volunteer in your child's interim alternative education setting. Let's join forces and work together for a positive change in the lives of all children.

Your child become one of our children when he/she entered the doors of New Horizon Alternative School. So, come on over to our house and together, we can help the children soar into a new horizon.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be,
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have winced but not cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance,
My head is bloodied but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears,
Looms but the horror of the shade.
And yet the menace of the years,
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
